South London based branches join forces for St Christopher’s Hospice

Staff from branches in the South East and South West London areas joined forces to raise money for St Christopher’s Hospice on 14 May, by supporting the charities Fun Walk at Keston Common in Bromley.

Over 32 staff from across Doves, Steven Mears, Blackheath, Pinks, Bexley and A. Yeatman & Sons either walked the 5.5 or 11 mile stretch or volunteered to help on the day.
The collaboration was organised by Area Development Managers Paula Hergest and Jamie Groves and Paula said: “It is the first time the areas have partnered to participate in an event together and it has been a great success – the ‘FPL’ team raised £450 for the hospice.”

Liz Sergeant, from Doves in Orpington, walked the 5.5 mile route with her dog Pablo added: “We all had the best day and all felt proud to be involved with the event and our personal achievements.

“The weather was perfect and our team spirit very strong – I’m a severe asthmatic and everyone supported me and we all managed to stay together even though some walked faster than others. At the end we all gained a medal – even Pablo!”
